David Rock in his book “Your Brain At Work” has talked about a framework that we can follow in order to encourage our “limbic” brain to tilt towards positive emotional responses , come what may be the situation.
SCARF framework & the factors in this acronym determine the arousal towards negative “away” or positive “toward” limbic brain emotional responses.
S – Status -> C – Certainty -> A – Autonomy -> R – Relatedness -> F – Fairness
Considering these factors it is even possible to influence the emotional responses of self as well as others e.g. team to get favorable results even in difficult situations.
