  • Fulfillment comes when we have a sense of purpose

Adopted from the following great quote of Simon Sinek from the book Together is Better.

“Most of us live our lives by accident – we live as it happens.

Fulfillment comes when we live our lives on PURPOSE.”

  • Of Generosity and Fulfillment

Generosity is defined something selflessly for others without expecting anything in return. This has been proven to cause fulfillment and the flow of the “love hormone” known as “Oxytocin” known to increase immunity.

The following wonderful quote of Simon Sinek aptly highlights this very fact and encourages us to exhibit generosity.

“What we DO for OTHERS has direct IMPACT on how WE FEEL about OURSELVES.”

  • Understanding this basic law of nature

“What we do for others has a direct impact on how we feel about ourselves.”

  • Scanning the right opportunity for fulfillment

  • Taking calculated risks for fulfillment

  • Relationship between life’s journey and “Oxytocin”

Oxytocin is the fulfillment chemical that is known to increase immunity. This can’t be tricked and flows through our veins when we show generosity and feel satisfied by serving others selflessly.

True fulfillment can’t be realized by adopting short cuts in life.Fulfillment is not born of the dream , it is born of the journey.

  • Why we cannot trick “Oxytocin”?

Oxytocin is the fulfillment chemical which flows through our veins when we achieve fulfillment by selfless deeds.

Hitting short term , selfish targets cannot generate “Oxytocin”.At best it is a shot of “dopamine”.

This brings us to the following wonderful quote from Simon Sinek , adopted from the book titled “Together is Better”.

“The value of our lives is not determined by what we do for ourselves. The value of our lives is determined by what we do for others”.

  • Reason our “WHY” should be for service to others

The concept of WHY was introduced by Simon Sinek in his iconic book titled “Start With Why”.

A WHY is another name for finding a deep filled purpose in our lives. This has to be in sync with our own personality traits as well.

When we run after short term benefits , hit a goal , get a promotion we do find moments of happiness which is short lived. This is like a “dopamine hit” which is bound to die after some time.

Hence our sense of purpose has to be long term. When we delve deep and find our purpose or WHY , more often it is part of a futuristic vision which is bigger than ourselves.

When we work towards attainment of the WHY , we sense the flow of “oxytocin” or the fulfillment chemical that enriches us.

  • Are you still living your life by accident?

Most of us live our lives by accident. We live as it happens without wanting to take risks to chase our passion.

Fulfillment comes when we live our lives on purpose.

It’s upto us to choose the kind of life we want

  • Are you living your WHY?

Simon Sinek pioneered the concept of WHY as one which gives us purpose and meaning in our lives. We should each strive towards finding out our real purpose or “WHY” in our lives for a fulfilling life.

When we say and do the things what we truly believe our behavior is regarded as consistent. This is when people start believing in us and are loyal to us.This is true integrity that we exhibit.

This is when we are truly living our WHY.
