Share a lesson you wish you had learned earlier in life.

    The Infinite Game of Life

The biggest lesson I have learnt lately which I wish I learnt early on in life is that: Life is an Infinite Game. Inspired by Simon Sinek’s book The Infinite Game, i now realize that there is no winning or losing in life. We just need to keep on playing the infinite game of life with an infinite mindset.

When we adopt an infinite mindset, we realize that we need to compete with ourselves and make a better version of ourselves by the day.

This concept is very powerful and indeed very relaxing and is sure to take a lot of stress out from your lives.

  • Optimism is the other name of Life

Optimism is the other name of Life

    Daily writing prompt
    What’s your favorite word?

Where there is Optimism there is life

My favorite word is Optimism. Being optimism and having faith in god gives me the strength to remain in flow and ward off any negative thoughts along with anxiety.

Research has proven that there are several benefits in remaining optimistic such as:

    1. Optimism can protect against depression — even for people who are at risk for it
    2. An optimistic outlook makes people more resistant to stress.
    3. Optimism may even help people live longer.

I am a big time Simon Sinek fan who has taught me to always take the RISK of OPTIMISM in life and the following quote is very inspirational.

The primary ingredient for progress is optimism. The unwavering belief that something can be better drives the human race forward.

    Simon Sinek quote

Hence what are you waiting for, like me take the risk of optimism.

  • The DECOY EFFECT and Human IRRATIONALITY

The DECOY EFFECT and Human IRRATIONALITY

How can Decoy Effect make you behave irrationally?

The Decoy effect is a very common and is a ploy made use of by marketeers to trigger human irrationality while making choices. This has been wonderfully explained by Dan Ariely in his book Predictably Irrational.

The relation between Decoy Effect and human irrationality

This book explores different facets wherein our rational brain stops and irrationality takes over. Decoy effect is explained as a phenomenon when a NEGATIVE of a particular OPTION is purposefully introduced to divert the attention of potential buyers from other possible options.

Read this insight to know more about this phenomenon

Thus thorough explanation of the decoy effect shows how it can effect our irrationality while making choices.

What are you doing this evening?

    Predictably Irrational key irrational insights

As you are aware I am a bibliophile and am currently reading a wonderful book named Predictably Irrational by Dan Ariely. So this evening I plan to read this book even further for demystifying human irrationality mentioned at length in Predictably Irrational.

This is indeed a wonderful book and mentions THREE IRRATIONALITIES which even the MOST RATIONAL human being will fall prey to:

    1. Decoy effect – When comparing between A and B if a decoy ins introduced for one option say -A, we tend to ignore B all together and allude towards A.
    2. Anchor effect – First impression is always the best impression , and can influence all our decisions relative to that impression.
    3. Gravitational pull of FREE – We agree with it or not , all humans have a natural inclination towards something offered for FREE even though that product/service being offered is not something that we desire.

  • Unleash your Passion to avoid Stress

    Daily writing prompt
If you had to give up one word that you use regularly, what would it be?

    How can Passion enable relaxation?

The One word that I use regularly and would love to give up is STRESS. Agree or not in our modern life of hustle and bustle the need to juggle among various priorities causes a lot of stress. Unleashing our passion is the right tonic to help us avoid stress.

The power of passion to avoid stress has been aptly summarized by the below quote –

    Simon Sinek’s quote –

Working hard for something we don’t care about is called stress; working hard for something we love is called passion.”

Hence to avoid stress it is imperative to pick a passion and pursue the same to feel fulfilled.
