    For Gen X millennials, addicted to social media and the expectation of instant gratification is leading to increasing cases of depression, anxiety and suicide.

    The ONLY way to avoid this addiction is to guard against OVERUSE of social media and use it judiciously.

    Can you share a positive example of where you’ve felt loved?

    The positive example of when i have felt loved that I am going to share is of being part of TRUSTING TEAMS. Leader of a trusting team encourages vulnerability.

    Though in hindsight it might seem odd, but its true when members of a team feel trusted they are open to share their vulnerability.

    Trusting teams are ones where everyone loves to play a role and more often than not these end up being high performance teams.

    I have had the good fortune of being part of TRUSTING TEAMS wherein members have felt comfortable of being vulnerable and sharing their individual weaknesses without fear.

    Needless to say these are environments wherein you feel a sense of belonging and hence loved.

    If you are still not focusing on the NOW then WHEN will you focus? This post emphasizes the virtue of focusing on the present rather than being obsessed with the past or future.

    To focus on the NOW is the ONLY opportunity we have.

    Neither can we control the PAST not the FUTURE.

    Hence the most rational behavior is junk the worry habit and think about the NOW.

    Though not an animal in the real sense, my favorite animal is the lizard that resides in the human mind. I will let you know why you should conquer the lizard in your mind.

    The human Lizard brain or the Limbic brain has been inherited from Apes is the thermometer of all emotions.

    The lizard brain is the single source of fear and resistance that inhibits acceptance of change.

    Hence I consider the HUMAN LIZARD BRAIN as the ANIMAL we need to TAME.

    Once you conquer the lizard the whole world can be your playground. You can then unleash all your creative ideas to be your best self overcoming all resistance.

    Whenever I am communicating online I ensure the most OPTIMUM use of communication tools including SOCIAL MEDIA. All of this to avoid being addicted to social media.

    There has been elaborate research which illustrates that constant exposure to social media, online tools and related addiction is similar to alcoholism and addiction to drugs.

    Instant gratification that comes as a result of these online tools, makes us restless and especially for Gen X millennials is leading to anxiety, depression and suicide.

    Though social media and other online tools carry a lot of benefits, their usage must be optimal.
