  • Relive the Present Moment

    Relive the Present Moment

    Daily writing prompt
If you could relive one year of your life, which one would it be?

    The Gift of the Present

If I were asked to relive any moment of my life, I would simply relive the present moment of my life.

Knowing that the present moment is a gift is an awakening that needs to happen in us.

Very often we keep dwelling about past regrets and future worries. In doing this we forget to enjoy the present moment gifted to us by God.

Once we live in the now and exhibit mindfulness most of our anxiety and worry would reduce.

Another very important aspect along with this is to practice gratitude for whatever God has gifted.

  • Allocate time to DO NOTHING

Share a hobby you’ve picked up recently — what got you into it?

    The Art of Doing Nothing

The one thing I have started practicing regularly is to allocate time to DO NOTHING. This may seems weird but when done in short bursts regularly can trigger your creative buds and relieve stress and anxiety.

If you block some time of the day as small as 15-30 minutes per day to not think about anything and just focus on the present moment it will rejuvenate you by pressing your reset button.

This is very much needed in the modern age if hustle and bustle to relieve your mind of anxiety and stress by letting go all tension.

This is one step closer to being more mindful which results in a fulfilling life.

This insight from the book The Power of Now is very insightful.

If you had to get a tattoo right now, what would it be and why?

Let your Tattoo remind you of this GIFT

The tattoo I would have would reflect the fact that the PRESENT moment is a GIFT from god to serve as a constant reminder to enjoy the moment.

The quirk of our brain is that it hates focusing on the present moment. Hence it is normal for our mind to constantly feel depressed of the past and worried about the future.

When we are mindful and show our gratitude to god for gifting us the present moment, our life becomes blissful with joy.

Hence practice mindfulness and let your tattoo always remind you of this reality.

A brilliant lessons from the book The Power of Now has been illustrated below:

How do you deal with uncertainty?

How to deal with the UNKNOWN?

Deal with Uncertainty can be really nerve racking and we need to be fearless enough to face the challenges associated with it.

Planning for unknown times is an advise we receive from most but is something that seldom works when we are faced with associated challenges.

I love this quote from Simon Sinek on plan and planning. This is a constant reminder to all of us to not obsess over planning.

We need to be courageous enough to deal with unexpected situations in life by focusing on the present moment.

The best way to plan your goals is to set short term goals and sub-goals which are measurable.

What is your most favorite quote?

When I think of the most intellectual quote, this particular one from Simon Sinek always tops the list.

In his book Together is Better, Simon mentions about this quote that even his publisher admired a lot.

    Here is how it goes:

What makes this quote very inspiring is the fact that it captures the two states of our brain – MIND captures the RATIONAL BRAIN whereas the HEART captures the LIMBIC brain.

If you had to give one life-changing tip, what would it be?

    Live in the Present Moment

Knowing that the The PRESENT is your TRANSFORMATION tool is the best life changing advice that I can provide from my experience.

Very often we regret about the past and worry too much about our future due to the inherent nature of our brain to vacillate from the present moment.

This is the biggest cause of anxiety and worry in our lives.

In his book The Power of Now, the author Eckhart Tolle has inspired all of us to live in the present moment and unleash our best selves.

This insight should inspire you to live in the present moment.

  • Patience Pays in the Long Run

Patience Pays in the Long Run

    Daily writing prompt
Do you think everything happens for a reason?

I do belieive everything happens for a reason. We just need to have faith in God and believe that patience pays in the long run.

Everything that we long for may not come to us instantaneously but if our intentions are sincere then with the right effort and focus, results will come at just the right time.

The best example of this is in selling. Many a times salespeople give up on prospects after the 5th attempt. Whereas in many of the cases it has been observed that the customer would have converted on the 7th attempt.

Hence patience is a virtue that needs to be practiced and will bear fruits in the long run.

What’s a promise you made to yourself that you’ve actually kept?

Why should you commit to pacts?

If you Respect Promises made to Self you will be able to lead a healthy and fulfilled life. This is what I have learnt over a period of time.

One such promise I made to myself is being financially well disciplined to meet any future unknowns.

Nir Eyal terms these promises as Ulysses pacts in his book Indistractable. He educates us to commit to these Ulysses pacts that we make to self.

The insight below elaborates on the same..
