    Good Relationships like Seat Belts

Aren’t good relationships like seat belts?

I believe in hand picking a limited circle of friends and relationships since good relationships are like seat belts.

Wise people maintain a circle of safety of people whom they truly love and who care for them in return.

This insight from Simon Sinek on relationships is truly inspiring to the core.

  • FOCUS on PROCESS not OUTCOMES

    FOCUS on PROCESS not OUTCOMES

Why Focus on Process not Outcomes?

In the book The Practicing Mind, the author Thomas Sterner educates us to Focus on the Process and not Outcomes for lasting happiness in our lives.

When we adopt a beginner’s mind and care about the process, we are living in the present moment. On the other hand when we obsess over the outcomes, we feel regretful of the past or fearful of the future.

Since focusing on the present leads to long lasting happiness and fulfillment, our effort should be directed towards deliberate practice to master the process..

  • Successful Writing and Flow

    Successful Writing and Flow

Isn’t successful writing all about flow?

Successful writing and flow are related. Anne Lamott highlights the same in her book Bird by Bird.

The author inspires an aspiring writer to focus on getting a first draft by getting over the resistance of the limbic brain.

The start is what matters the most. She goes at length and mentions that very often good writers don’t realize the journey till they have generated the final draft.

This is because they are so engrossed with the process that the product hardly matters.

The same has been highlighted in this insight from the same book:

  • Shift to an Infinite Mindset

    Shift to an Infinite Mindset

Why should you shift to an Infinite Mindset?

The primary thing I am working on is to shift to an infinite mindset. This would me be purpose driven rather than pleasure driven.

In his book The Infinite Game, Simon Sinek had introduced this concept wherein he encourages us to think of bettering ourselves by the day instead of comparing with others.

This is the single most important skill needed to keep playing the game of life or business.

The five key principles that define adoption of an infinite mindset have been highlighted below:

    1. Advance a Just CAUSE which acts as a GUIDING STAR for motivating ourselves.
    2. Constant endeavor to build trust at home and workplace wherein people feel psychologically safe in our company
    3. Respect , study and be prepared to learn from Worthy Rivals to keep playing the infinite game more effectively
    4. Avoid complacency & Prepare for Existential Flex which is run time disruption at a time things are going well. This helps us course correct as needed.
    5. Demonstrate the Courage to Lead
