Quit Smoking by Change of Routine in Habit Loop
Charles Duhigg in his best selling book illustrates how a change in the ROUTINE of the 3 Step HABIT LOOP can help smokers quit smoking.
The Cue, Reward remain the same just that the Routine needs to change. As illustrated in the following snapshot, the CRAVING for SMOKING can remain the same just that the same craving can be fulfilled by a different ROUTINE to derive the pleasure or the REWARD.
This is the scientific method adopted from many rehab centers to convert smokers to non smokers by instilling self belief by making them part of like minded communities.
